Felice Varini is extremely neat. When I am old and ungainly, I will pay this man to decorate my stylish apartment in Boston with many concentric circles.
I am back from Iowa. Iowa, it turns out, has lovely weather. Dubuque is an aging Western city. The churches and clocktowers are surprising and beautiful in such a dilapidated place. At 9PM, it is almost a ghost town. (Apparently it is also known as the “can-do” City.)
Mock trial run-throughs lasted from 8PM to 3AM this morning, and the same thing will happen tonight. At least my Russian accent is improving. We’re driving to Iowa this Wednesday for the Loras tournament. This week is pretty much shot to hell.
I do not like this website any more. It is not attractive enough. I’m on it, though.
Currently I am sitting on a bench in the business school. Competent-looking individuals keep passing me by, talking about money on cellphones. I am here in search of more spiritual things, i.e. my Philosophy of Religion class, except the classroom seems to be occupied by hostile-looking grad students. I am hoping that 1) this first TA session is cancelled for lack of material (possible) or 2) I somehow have the wrong building (unlikely). The worst case scenario is that I did have the right classroom, and when I looked confused and stumbled out I was actually ruining my new classmates’ first impression of me. Now no one will care about what I have to say about the philosophy of religion.
Otherwise, classes are lovely. I’ve got a schedule, look! I am also trying to perfect a Russian accent, but it is unforseeably difficult.
